Background and Discussion:
Precinct 4 has requested that the Office of the County Engineering manage the Study and Design of the Peek Road - from Stockdick School Road to Beckendorff Road - 2023 project. Peek Road is an
existing 2-lane asphalt road with roadside ditches and bridge crossing over South Mayde Creek. The project proposes to improve the existing conditions to a 4-lane concrete boulevard with medians,
underground storm sewer, sidewalks and expanded bridge crossing.
Expected Impact:
The project seeks to improve transportation and pedestrian mobility by improving the road conditions to enhance traffic flow and provide pedestrian friendly infrastructure by constructing sidewalks.
Alternative Options:
If no action is taken, the safety and mobility benefits associated with the proposed improvements will not be
achieved, thereby depriving residents and pedestrians of the enhancements these improvements are intended
to provide.
