Background and Discussion: The SSG Fox Suicide Prevention Grant enables Harris County Veterans enrolled in the program access to tailored suicide prevention plans, a dedicated case manager, and mental health services.  Enrolled veterans also receive much needed access to housing, clothing, transportation, child care, food security, employment opportunities and peer support.

Expected Impact:  Extending the end date of the current grant until 02/29/2024 will reduce the rate of veteran suicides across Harris County.

Alternative Options:  Inaction, Harris County continues the trend of one veteran suicide every six days.
