Request for approval to execute an agreement with All-Terra Engineering, Inc. in the amount of $388,590.00 for Professional Engineering Services regarding Construction Materials Testing and related Services for Drainage Improvements at Parkway (Mobile Homes - 2018) Subdivision, UPIN 19101MF17F01, Precinct 1, MWBE Contracted Goal: 100%.
end
Background and Discussion:
The Parkway (Mobile Homes) Subdivision is located in Precinct 1, northeast Harris County, north of the intersection of Park Trail Drive and Tidwell Road. The existing drainage system consists of concrete curb and gutter, and surface flow to a main trunkline drainage culvert that runs south and ultimately outfalls into HCFCD maintained ditch P122-00-00. The scope of project includes construction of underground drainage improvements, stormwater detention basin, and concrete pavement. All-Terra Engineering will provide construction materials testing services to support the project in construction.
Expected Impact:
This agreement will allow the firm to conduct field and laboratory testing on soil, concrete, asphalt and various other construction materials to ensure the material’s compliance with Harris County Engineering Department’s adopted standards and specifications as required by state law.
Alternative Options:
Construction materials testing is required by state law. Thus, alternatives include issuing a purchase order for similar services to a different vendor or cancelling this construction project.
