Background and Discussion:

The project is located in northwest Harris County, primarily in the White Oak Bayou watershed and partially in the Cypress Creek watershed. It is north of Cypress North Houston Road, east of Huffmeister Road, and west of N. Eldridge Parkway. Timberlake Estates consists of roadside ditches that drain into HCFCD channel K163-00-00. The proposed improvements are to regrade the roadside ditches, install storm sewer system beneath roadside ditches, convert an amenity basin into a detention basin and connect the basin to the drainage system for mitigation.

Expected Impact:

This project seeks to reduce flooding and strengthen resiliency in Harris County by assisting in the alleviation of structural flood damage to homes in the Timberlake Estates subdivision.

Alternative Options:

The County could elect to fund the requested task or choose to reject it. However, if not approved, the contractor will not be able to complete the original scope of work.

County Strategic Plan Goal:  2. Connect our community with safe, reliable, equitably distributed, and well-maintained infrastructure.
