Background and Discussion:

Bear Creek Village (Stage B) Subdivision Drainage Improvements - 2018 is a drainage improvement project that aims to reduce flood risk and strengthen resiliency in Harris County by helping to alleviate structural flood damage to homes within the community. The Utility Construction Services Agreement is necessary to facilitate the relocation of utility poles currently in conflict with the project, ensuring that construction can proceed smoothly and without obstruction.

Expected Impact:

Approval of the Utility Construction Services Agreement will authorize CenterPoint Energy Houston Electric, LLC to relocate the utility poles currently in conflict with the Bear Creek Village (Stage B) Subdivision Drainage Improvement Project. These relocations are necessary to allow Harris County to proceed with construction and ensure the successful completion of the drainage improvement project.

Alternative Options:

Due to the nature of the conflicts caused by the utility poles, no alternative solutions are feasible. If the poles remain in their current locations, they will not only delay Harris County’s construction progress, but also prolong flooding issues within the community.
