Background and Discussion:

Closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras are an integral part of modern roadway infrastructure. Roadway CCTV systems typically consist of strategically placed cameras that provide real-time visual data to traffic control centers and law enforcement agencies.

This location will enhance traffic management by enabling authorities to monitor congestion in real time, quickly identify accidents or stalled vehicles, and coordinate emergency response efforts more efficiently.

Expected Impact:

Approval of the Service Outlet Location (SOL) statement will allow CenterPoint Energy to activate the service to power the Brays Bayou Camera.  The implementation of CCTV cameras on roadways is expected to yield several benefits. Enhanced real-time monitoring will likely lead to quicker detection and response to traffic incidents, thereby reducing accident clearance times and minimizing traffic congestion.
