Background and Discussion:
This project includes the construction of approximately 7,800 Linear Feet of 12 Feet wide concrete trail along top of berm of Lauder Road detention basin, and asphalt parking lot and park amenities for uses.
The change order includes the following:
- The original 1,935 Cubic Yard excavation estimate is insufficient. With 13 inches of excavation across 8,660 Linear Feet of sidewalk. The Engineer of Record (EOR) has verified the correct total as 4,657 Cubic Yards, requiring an adjustment. This change will add $135,419.50.
- During the bi-weekly progress meeting, it was confirmed that the trail width between Station 30+50 to 31+50 and Station 40+30 to 41+30 should remain 12 feet if there are no conflicts. The Engineer of Record (EOR) and prescient representative has approved this if there is no encroachment into the existing swale. This change will add $9,087.98
Expected Impact:
Increase the total cost for the contract.
Alternative Options:
No action will result in substandard construction.
