Recommendation by the Flood Control District for authorization to negotiate an agreement for engineering services with CDM Smith, Inc., to provide preliminary engineering, design, bidding, and construction phase services in support of the Cloverleaf Area Drainage Improvement Project. (Carpenters Bayou Watershed, Bond ID Z-02, Project ID N100-00-00-E001, Precinct 2).

Background and Discussion:
The Cloverleaf Area Drainage Improvement Project will serve a 473-acre residential area of the Carpenters Bayou watershed. The improvements will include roadside ditch upgrades, installation of a storm sewer trunkline, and excavation of a 100+ acre stormwater detention basin. The Texas General Land Office (GLO) recently announced award of a $10M grant to help construct this project.

The alternative to this item would be to use another consultant for the engineering work. This would delay progress on the project.
Alignment with Strategic Objective:
SO1.1 - Continuously plan CIP projects to improve conveyance capabilities of Harris County through addition of assets to FCD infrastructure and improving existing assets within FCD's existing infrastructure.
