Background and Discussion:

TxDOT Traffic Safety Grant is designed to bring pedestrian and bike safety to underserved communities and provide opportunities to learn how to stay safe, ultimately reducing pedestrian and biking injury and fatalities. The grant period for this award is October 1, 2026 - September 30, 2027.

 

Expected Impact:

To reduce the number of motor vehicle-related pedestrian and bicyclist crashes, fatalities, and injuries and align with the County’s strategic initiative to ensure safety and security for all using the County’s transportation network in alignment with the County’s Vision Zero plan.
