Background and Discussion:

Precinct 2 developed a community plan for the North Shore community and moved forward with implementing the community monument recommendation stemming from that plan for the North Shore and Channelview communities. As the next step in that effort, the Precinct would like to design community monuments precinct-wide at various appropriate locations.

Expected Impact:

The planning, design and construction of community monuments in various locations precinct-wide will result in improving the sense of place and general aesthetics of outdoor spaces in Precinct 2. This project will include extensive community engagement to determine appropriate locations for community monuments in the precinct. Other tasks include planning and design of the recommended monuments.

Alternative Options:

An alternative option is to install community monuments in the precinct without a community engagement, planning and design effort.
