Background and Discussion:

The Meadowhill Regional Municipal Utility District (RMUD) has experience flooding on multiple occasions.  This request is for approval of an interlocal agreement for a partnership project with Meadowhill Regional Municipal Utility District for a flood protection project for Harris County Precinct 3 residents adjacent to K124-05-00.  HCFCD’s participation is funding only.  The design and construction will be handled by Meadowhill RMUD.  The total cost of the project is $2,717,620.  HCFCD’s share is 50/50 or $1,358,810.  The project will be funded by the Z-02 Bond Fund.

Expected Impact:

The Meadowhill RMUD partnership project will construct a detention facility and storm water improvements within the subdivision to provide flood protection.  The project benefits 51 structures for the 100-year event.

Alternative Options:

The alternative would be not to enter this agreement with the Meadowhill RMUD and identify another partner which would delay the progress of this flood projection project.
