Background and Discussion:

The original agreement made with CenterPoint Energy Texas Gas Operations was in the amount of $56,070.49; however, additional scope was required to minimize impacts to adjacent residents. The additional scope required to complete the utility relocation work totaled $145,678.41. The total amended agreement amount is $201,748.90.

Expected Impact:

If this agreement is approved, it will allow for the completion of payment for the utility relocation work. Relocating the CenterPoint Energy gas line allowed Flood Control District to complete the planned rehabilitation project as designed. Restoring the channel back to the original design capacity protects the public and public infrastructure by allowing for the proper conveyance of water. The repairs also reduce the risk of flooding in the future.

Alternative Options:

There are no alternate options as CenterPoint is the one and only entity we can deal with in these matters.
