Background and Discussion:

Approval to renew a Hike and Bike Trail Agreement with Fry Road Municipal Utility District (FRMUD) to allow the continued maintenance of a 6-foot-wide public hike and bike trail along both sides of HCFCD Unit U101-19-00, with a trail length of approximately 0.9 miles between Saums Road and the upstream end of the channel.

Expected Impact:

By renewing this hike and bike trail agreement with Fry Road Municipal Utility District, it will allow FRMUD to continue maintenance responsibilities, which will oversee trail upkeep, consistent vegetation management, timely repairs, and safety improvements.  This partnership ensures the trail remains a safe and enjoyable community resource while incurring no cost to the Flood Control District.

Alternative Options:

If this interlocal agreement is not executed, the FRMUD will be unable to continue maintaining the trail for public use.  This would also force HCFCD to assume maintenance responsibilities, resulting in additional costs and resource allocation for the Flood Control District.
