Background and Discussion:

This project involves asphalt pavement rehabilitation at several key locations, including Malcomson Road from Grant Road to Louetta Road, Fenske Road from Cypress Church Road to Cypress Rose Hill Road, and Cypress Church Road from Louetta Road to Mueschke Road, as well as improvements within the Old Town Spring limits based on recommendations from Traffic and Pedestrian Study, Old Town Spring.

The project consists of an addition of asphalt roadway rehabilitation along Dairy Oaks Drive, Holstein Drive, Angus Drive, Hereford Drive, Deer Creek Road, and Jersey Drive, extending from their respective intersections to the designated dead ends.  The scope also includes furnishing and installing reinforced concrete pipe (RCP) culverts under Dairy Oaks Road to enhance drainage improvements in the Crosby, Texas area.

The change in contract includes the following:

The line items are adjusted to reconcile overrun quantities and to include new line items on the project for completion of the proposed scope of work.

•                     The increase in quantities on overrun line-item numbers 4, 6, 7, 10, 17, 22, 23, and 31 for an addition in the amount of $267,437.31.

New Line Items:

•                     Added New Line-Item number 68- Furnish and install 48inch RCP Pipe for an addition in the amount of $35,700.00

•                     Added New Line-Item number 69- Guardrail removal for an addition in the amount of $3,150.00

•                     Added New Line-Item number 70- Guardrail replacement for an addition in the amount of $28,950.00

•                     Added New Line-Item number 71- Video Recording Construction New Road for an addition in the amount of $10,000.00

The above additions result in the amount of $345,237.31 and 60 calendar days (PCO-5)

Expected Impact:

These changes allow for quantity adjustments and additional days necessary to complete the project in line with its original intent and in compliance with precinct requirements. The inclusion of the new road segment for overlay is aimed at improving safety for both drivers and pedestrians in the area.
