Background and Discussion:
This On-Call project is to upgrade Spring Cypress Road at Ella Boulevard with installation of a westbound Spring Cypress Road dedicated right turn lane, increased left turn lane storage on Ella Boulevard approach, and full traffic signal rebuild including mast arms signals & pedestrian upgrades.
Changes include reconciliation of actual quantities used in construction with the estimated quantities included for bidding purposes. Added items:
- Extra barricade for new island (Arrow Boards, Water barrel). - $5,492.94 - 45 days.
- Extra work to relocate the controller cabinet. - $4,443.52 - 2 days.
- Additional days due time lost by signal contractors, because could not work during certain portions of roadwork. - $0.00 - 46 days.
- Electronic Message Board for Advanced Notification of the right lane being closed. - $3,989.02 - 30 days
Expected Impact:
Change allows unused funds to be returned to Harris County and allows the Contractor to be compensated.
Alternative Options:
Changes allow for addition of new bid items and days to complete the project in accordance with the original intent of the project and in compliance with precinct requests.
