Background and Discussion:

STOA International Architects was approved as the prime consultant to begin negotiations for the design and construction of a 2,600 SF enclosed storage shed and an 8,160 SF pre-engineered metal building open canopy as well as a comprehensive site assessment to determine the most functional and strategic location for these new structures.  The evaluations include a Topographical survey and a subsurface engineering utility survey, review of an existing geotechnical report, producing as-built drawings reflecting existing site conditions, cost estimates for recommended design and construction approach and emphasizing architectural design elements that support an efficient and cohesive operational environment for the end users.

Expected Impact:

The approval of this agreement would allow the design firm STOA International Architects, Inc. to conduct the necessary site assessments, complete design phases and cost estimates to accommodate the increasing demands for storage and improve overall functionality.  These enhancements will help modernize the facility, improve overall efficiency, and strengthen service delivery to the surrounding community.

Alternative Options:

The alternative option for this project would be to continue functions with existing sheds that may not be able to accommodate the increasing storage demands, causing backed-up services to support equipment maintenance, public works, and support various community initiatives.
