Background and Discussion:
The Pinckney Trail Connection project consists of constructing a 10-ft-wide hike and bike trail from the White Oak Bayou Greenway Trail to the intersection of Fletcher Street and Pinckney Street. The project will also include a proposed 200- ft long retaining wall with a concrete swale, approximately 900 LF of varying size storm sewer along with inlets and manholes, a headwall, grass-lined swales, bollards, permanent street and trail signs, handrails, waterline and sanitary line adjustments, benches, trash receptacles, and pavement markings accompanying the trail in Harris County Precinct 2.
The Changes in contract include:
• A new line item of 4 modified Inlets is needed due to shift in the trail alignment in order to avoid the power pole relocation with an additional cost of $16,927.19 and 14 calendar days.
• Additional 35 calendar days are needed due to utility conflict and additional safety measure to brace the power poles along the trail.
Expected Impact:
The change will allow the contractor to complete the proposed work according to the design plan and complete the project.
Alternative Options:
There is no other alternative available except the requested changes will allow the contractor to complete the proposed work according to the design plan and complete the project.
