title
Request by the Flood Control District for approval to accept an amendment to an agreement with the Federal Emergency Management Agency to extend the period of performance to March 21, 2026 for the Flood Mitigation Assistance 2020 Grant Program (Halls Bayou Watershed, Project ID P103-00-00-H001, Countywide).
end
Background and Discussion:
It is recommended that the Flood Control District be authorized to accept an amendment for grant award for voluntary buyouts from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for the Flood Mitigation Assistance (FMA) 2020 Grant Program. The amendment extends the grant period of performance by one year to March 21, 2026, and does not change the funding.
Expected Impact:
If the period of performance is extended, the Flood Control District will be able to continue to perform voluntary buyout tasks agreed upon in the grant agreement. The Flood Control District will utilize its resources and applicable consultants during the design and construction phases of the project, as well as the management of the grant approval process in compliance with Harris County statutes, applicable laws of the state of Texas, and Policy regarding Federal Grant Awards.
Alternative Options:
The alternative would be that the period of performance ends on March 21, 2025.
