Background and Discussion:

This is a road project, the scope consists of extension of Birnam Wood Boulevard from north of Hickorygate Drive to south of Indigo Forest Boulevard, standard four (4) lane concrete boulevard in 100-ft right of way with 32-ft raised medians. This project expansion needs the acquisition of some parcels as part of the visibility design per Harris County Traffic Standards.

Expected Impact:

The acquisition of this parcel will ensure that Harris County has the proposed ROW needed to comply with Harris County Traffic Standards and Design documents to improve the existing 2-lane Boulevard to a 4-lane Boulevard.

Alternative Options:

If this request is not approved, the project will not be sent to bid due the missing ROW, and no construction will be initiated therefore the area will continue operating under the current conditions. The proposed expansion recalls this tract as part of the visibility corners needed for this project construction to comply with HC standards.
