Background and Discussion:

Harris County Housing & Community Development, in coordination with the Office of the County Engineer, requests approval to declare the ARPA-funded improved residential property located at 6807 Madrid St., Houston, Texas, as surplus property due to vandalism and the property's condition. Approval is also requested to proceed with the marketing and sale of the Property through the authorized brokerage sale method. Any sale agreement will require subsequent Commissioners Court approval.

Expected Impact:

Approval will allow the County to dispose of the vandalized property and manage sale proceeds in accordance with applicable ARPA/SLFRF requirements, including Treasury guidance for property acquired under Eligibility Category 6.1 (Revenue Loss).

Alternative Options:

Do not declare the Property surplus or proceed with its sale, requiring the County to retain and address the Property in its current condition.
