Background and Discussion:

The Inwood Stormwater Detention Basin is a joint project between the Flood Control District and the City of Houston to build 12 interconnecting storm water detention basins on the City of Houston property formerly known as the Inwood Forest Golf Course. The property includes a pipeline easement that needs to be acquired by the Flood Control District to make connections between the basins. This Agreement is for the acquisition of the pipeline.

Expected Impact:

Once the pipeline easement is acquired by the Flood Control District, connections between the basins will be made and project will ultimately provide 1,274 acre-feet of detention volume which will be equally shared by the City and the Flood Control District to provide flood mitigation and general flood damage reduction benefits to Harris County residents.

Alternative Options:

The Alternative to not building this project is that project will not be completed, and the Flood Control District will not receive flood damage reduction benefits.
