Background and Discussion:
The project section of Mound Road 2 is a 4-lane, median-divided concrete roadway extended from Greenhouse Road and transitioning to 2-lane asphalt and gravel roadways terminating at Cypress Drive Mound Road Extension project to be divided into two segments to provide accessibility to adjacent developments and finalize the outfall design servicing the project. Due to the minimal depth of cover at this location, the utility company required an air bridge over the utilities and, Junction boxes were used in lieu of manholes. To compensate the contractor for the additional work, this contract change is necessary.
The change in contract includes the following:
• Pipeline Air Bridge, 1 L = $3,290.93
• Junction Box 5’x5’, 4 EA = $24,000.00
Deduction of existing bid item
Item 37 Concrete Manhole (precast) 72” circular additional depth, 4 EA = $24,000.00
Expected Impact:
This change will allow the Contractor to be properly compensated for the additional work.
