Background and Discussion:

This project includes transportation improvements, drainage improvements, public utility improvements including water line and sanitary sewer replacements, street lighting, landscaping and planting additional trees, and a safe pedestrian crossing along both sides of Seamist Drive, between 11th Street and Kury Lane. The proposed transportation improvements will consist of a typical section of a concrete curb and gutter two-lane road with two 12-foot drive. The proposed drainage improvements will consist of providing inline detention storage. These enhancements will improve drainage and address safety issues while bringing the roadway up to current requirements. This agreement will provide Professional Services from the Engineer of Record for the completion of study and design phases.

Expected Impact:

This project seeks to improve transportation and drainage systems and strengthen resiliency in Harris County by assisting in the alleviation of structures in the clay road area.

Alternative Options:

If no action is taken, the safety and mobility benefits associated with the proposed improvements will not be achieved, thereby depriving residents and pedestrians of the enhancements these improvements are intended to provide
