Background and Discussion:
Precinct 3 is requesting that the Office of the County Engineer approve an agreement for professional engineering services to advance the Westgreen Boulevard Extension Project, extending from Ventura Bay Drive to Bridge Creek Terrace Drive. The project involves the study, design, and bid of approximately 0.43 miles of new four-lane concrete boulevard along Westgreen Boulevard, including the construction of single-span twin bridges over Langham Creek. The proposed improvements will establish a new roadway connection between Ventura Bay Drive and Bridge Creek Terrace Drive, improving connectivity within the corridor. The project is located within the Addicks Reservoir Watershed and is partially situated within the regulatory floodplain. As such, the engineering effort will include the necessary environmental, drainage, hydraulic, structural, and permitting considerations associated with the watershed and floodplain requirements.
