Background and Discussion:
In March 2023, Comm. Precinct 2 submitted a request to Harris County Engineering Department’s PMO to manage the design and construction phase services of the Veterans Memorial Park based on the court approved Masterplan study. On October 31, 2023, Harris County Engineering submitted a request for approval to advertise for professional services. An RFQ was posted, and the highest-ranking vendor was selected by the evaluation committee. Harris County Engineering has decided to rescind the authorization to negotiate after evaluating the design Workshop proposal review process.
Expected Impact:
The goal and objective is to rescind the consultant negotiation process and engage another consultant to efficiently prepare the proposal negotiation.
Alternative Options:
If no action is taken, Veterans Memorial Park will continue to be underutilized.
