Background and Discussion:
The Asian American Peace Officers’ Association (AAPOA) has generously donated 23 seat cushion shields, manufactured by Armor Upfitters, in honor of Deputy Fernando Esqueda who was killed in the line of duty on 7/10/24. These shields are intended for distribution to Deputy Esqueda’s teammates on the Violent Person Task Force and will be used as supplemental protection gear in addition to county-issued equipment.
