Background and Discussion:

This project was studied by Midtown Engineers as part of their Katy Area traffic study. The study identified the need for improvements to better the operation of the intersection.  The improvements identified are adding an exclusive right turn lane and reducing the existing median noses at all approaches to allow safe pedestrian crossings. The addition of the right turn lane will require acquisition of right of way and relocation of utilities currently owned by Nottingham MUD.

Expected Impact:

Will allow for a faster completion of the project by having the MUD donate the property and having the County provide the financial resources needed to relocate the utilities.

Alternative Options:

If this is not approved, then the recommended improvements to the intersection cannot be constructed.
