Background and Discussion:
Floating Islands at Rev William and Audrey Lawson Stormwater Detention Basin includes installation of two artificial floating island structures, the construction of a canoe house, a monitoring station and a manhole for monitoring access to the existing outfall pipe. A previous contract change approved by Commissioner’s Court added the installation of a fountain to the project. The purpose of this transmittal is to submit the Certificate of Substantial Completion, confirming that the Contractor has fulfilled the scope of work and resolved all punch list items to the satisfaction of the Flood Control District.
Expected Impact:
Substantial Completion signifies that a flood control project is largely finished, allowing the Flood Control District to begin using the majority of the infrastructure to realize intended flood risk reduction benefits while the Contractor completes any applicable minor outstanding details.
