title

end
Background and Discussion:
Harris County Precinct 4 seeks to enter into a Memorandum of Understanding with Mi Familia en Acción, a national nonprofit committed to building Latino, immigrant, and allied civic power through voter registration, voter mobilization, citizenship assistance, environmental justice advocacy, and issue-based education. Under this partnership, Mi Familia en Acción will deliver workshops, citizenship clinics, voter engagement events, and environmental justice programming at Precinct 4 community centers at no cost to the County.
The MOU delineates responsibilities for program coordination, community outreach, use of facilities, and performance metrics, aligning this agreement with the precinct’s goals of inclusive civic access and community empowerment.
Expected Impact:
By leveraging Mi Familia en Acción’s established infrastructure and experience-especially its multi-layered voter mobilization strategy, citizenship assistance programming, and issue advocacy-the County can broaden access to critical civic and environmental education across underrepresented communities. The collaboration is expected to increase voter registration and turnout, assist eligible residents with citizenship applications, and deepen community engagement around environmental justice issues without imposing additional fiscal burden on the County. This partnership aims to strengthen democratic participation, build trust between government and marginalized communities, and amplifies resident voices in policy discourse.
