Background and Discussion:
Harris County purchased 1111 Fannin to be the new offices for HCED, HCFCD, Purchasing, and HRRM. These four departments will occupy the majority of the building along with Harris County Public Health. This court amendment entails scope pertaining to the building’s 1st Floor and HVAC system. This amendment entails added scope including HVAC changes, installation of new glass in 9 offices on the 11th floor, and removal & replacement of 3 Fan Powered Boxes
Expected Impact:
The Construction Manager At Risk will provide assistance and guidance to the design team for the procurement of long lead items, constructability, budget, and schedule.
Alternative Options:
The alternative would be not to make these adds to the scope of the Construction Manager At Risk and to defer needed upgrades and maintenance to the building’s infrastructure.
