Background and Discussion:
The Forest Shadows Subdivision is located in North Harris County, north of FM 1960, east of Rayford Road, and southwest of Cypress Creek. The subdivision is within the Cypress Creek Watershed. The Forest Shadows subdivision is currently drained by roadside ditches and culverts. A portion of the drainage is directed to Theiss Road at the intersection of Forest Glade Drive and eventually through the adjacent subdivision. The southeast portion drains to Turkey Creek. The scope of work for this project consists of regrading roadside ditches, replacing culverts and driveways, construction of a detention basin for mitigation, and roadway improvements consisting of extending Broadmark Lane to provide access to the detention pond and the reconstruction of segments of Theiss Road, Forest Glade Drive and Broadmark Lane.
The change in contract includes the following:
Quantity Adjustment: The below line items are adjusted to reconcile overrun and underrun quantities on the project for completion of the proposed scope of work.
• The increase of quantities on overrun line item numbers 9, 16, 18, and 20 for an addition in the amount of $37,815.02.
• The decrease of quantities on underrun line item numbers 1, 5, 7, 8, 10, 11, 13, 15, 17, 19, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 30, 32, 34, 35, 37, 38, 39, 43, 44, 45, 46, 47, 48, 49, 50, 52, 55, 56, 57, 58, 59, 60, 62, 64, 65, 67, 68, 69, 70, 71, 72, 73, 74, 75, 76, 77 and 78 for a deduction in the amount of $305,075.18.
New Line Items: Adding new line items on the project for completion of the proposed scope of work.
• Added new line item numbers 80 and 81 for Erosion Blankets and SET replacement with runners for an addition in the amount of $49,055.71.
• Added new line item number 82 - cost impacts due to design revisions involving outfall modification at channel, modifications extending from channel to roadside ditch, SET at roadside ditch leading to detention basin, and changes to the proposed scope of work throughout constructing the project for an addition in the amount of $295,232.66.
• Added 32 calendar days to the project time for changes to the proposed scope of work throughout constructing the project.
The above additions and deductions result in a net change in the amount of $77,028.15 and 32 calendar days.
