Background and Discussion:

On September 19, 2023, Commissioners Court approved a contract award to D&C Contracting, Inc. to replace the original 30+ year old water supply system and other necessary improvements at the HCTRA administration building located at 7701 Wilshire Place Drive, Houston, Texas (Precinct 1). HCTRA was made aware that mold was growing inside the material of the ducts at the time of HVAC demolition.  Once this was discovered, it became a health and safety issue, where all trunk lines had to be demolished and replaced.  Also, after the ceiling was demolished, the ordered VAV A/C control boxes did not fit and new low-profile VAV boxes will be ordered upon approval of amendment.  Additionally, thirty-one (31) doors and door frames will need to be ordered due to damage and/or wrong turn that was not a part of the original scope.

Expected Impact:

Funding for this request will come from the Toll Road Authority.  Approval of the amendment will allow the project to move forward.
