Background and Discussion: Request for approval of an award on the basis of low bid to Durwood Greene Construction Co. for Asphalt Rehabilitation for Memorial Drive between San Felipe and West of Chimney Rock (2024) for Harris County Precinct 3, and for the County Clerk to execute any applicable bonds to be received (250302), MWDBE Contracted Goal: 31.56%.
The low bidder, Ceballos Construction, LLC, did not meet the qualifications included in the bid package. In order to bid on this project, contractors/bidders must be prequalified on the day of the Bid Opening through TXDOT. Based on the bid results, the recommendation of OCE and the design consultant, WSB, LLC, it is recommended that the lowest responsive bidder, Durwood Greene Construction Co., be awarded the contract.
Expected Impact: Awarding the contract will allow the recommended bidder to proceed with constructing the asphalt rehabilitation for Memorial Drive between San Felipe Street and west of Chimney Rock Road.
Alternative Options: The alternative is not to award the contract. If no action is taken, the asphalt rehabilitation will not be constructed.
