Background and Discussion:

The Harris County Clerk’s Office currently uses the Odyssey Case Management System (Enterprise Justice) to create, manage, and dispose of Probate, Mental Health, and Civil Court cases. Odyssey serves as the core platform supporting case-related operations and is central to ensuring consistent processes across the Clerk’s and Court support Offices. We continue to explore additional technologies that can augment or integrate with Odyssey to strengthen operational effectiveness and further streamline case management workflows.

Expected Impact:

The Odyssey Case Management System automates clerk and court operations for the Harris County Clerk’s and Courts’ Offices, including case management, scheduling, reporting, fee collection, and document management. Continued use of Odyssey improves staff productivity by streamlining office workflows and facilitating secure information-sharing across the Clerk’s and Courts’ Offices. These efficiencies significantly reduce redundant data entry and support faster, more accurate case processing. In parallel, exploring and integrating complementary technologies will enhance efficiency, extend functionality, and increase long-term operational effectiveness.

Alternative Options:

At present, the Odyssey Case Management System is fully utilized for creating, managing, collecting filing fees, and disposing of Probate, Mental Health, and Civil Court cases. While Odyssey remains the core case management solution, the County Clerk’s Office continues to evaluate and pilot additional technologies that may integrate with or augment Odyssey. This approach ensures flexibility in adopting innovative solutions that improve efficiency, enhance reporting capabilities, and better support evolving operational needs.
