Background and Discussion:
This change in contract included adding additional cost and time delays due to unforeseen field conditions and plan revisions as detailed below.
To mitigate conflicts and prioritize critical path items for the project, it was necessary to leave gapes in the storm sewer system and relocate the 4” gas line. this change order is intended to compensate the contractor for collar installation and removal and relocation of 4” gas line.
New Items
• Reinforced concrete collars from 24”-36” for the total amount of ($21,361.02)
• 4” Gas Line in Steel Casing for the total amount of ($36,498.29)
Existing Item Overrun
• Remove Existing pipe for the total amount of ($2,224.00)
Expected Impact:
This change in contract allows the contractor to be appropriately compensated for the additional cost and time and extend the contract completion date due to the delays at no fault of the contractor.
Alternative Options:
To relocate the pipelines prior to award but the schedule for the pipeline was not feasible within County Project timeline.
