Background and Discussion:
On 9/12/2023 as part of the budget amendments, Commissioners’ Court approved the request code 2209 “Establish the rank of Detective within the Sheriff’s Office”. This promotional rank and has been approved by the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Civil Service Commission. The requested salary scale will consist in 4 pay steps and should be included in the Law Enforcement salary plan. The proposed salary is as follows:
