Background and Discussion:

The District is looking for a supplier of Engineered Ductal Mortar products and tools to facilitate in-house repair projects by the Maintenance Construction Group (MCG).  This term contract will allow for bulk purchases of the required products and tools which will allow for working on multiple concrete channel lining repair projects at the same time. The recommendation is to award this contract to the lowest responsive bidder Builders Products, Inc.

Expected Impact:

MCG will perform the concrete channel lining repairs for the maintenance of the Federal Channels.  The bulk purchase of these materials and tools will expedite work on multiple projects instead of individual purchases for each project.  Maintenance Matters Prop “A” funds the labor and materials to expedite these small repairs to the concrete lined channels by MCG to extend the life of the concrete channel until full channel replacement projects can be programed.

Alternative Options:

The alternative is to “do nothing” and risk a failure of a full concrete panel.  This would then require an emergency repair of the full panel rather than programmed full channel section replacement.
