Background and Discussion:
METRO and the County entered an interlocal agreement on February 21, 2023, for METRO to construct and install up to one hundred (100) bus shelters in Harris County Precinct 2. METRO desires, and Harris County has agreed, to construct and install an additional one hundred (100) bus shelters and add Precinct 2 branding, based on METRO's guidelines and consultation between the Parties, to all two hundred (200) bus shelters in Harris County Precinct 2.
Expected Impact:
Efficiently provide shelters to improve the transit customer experience and constituents at the bus stops. It will provide protection to the constituents from the elements, including direct sunlight and rain. It will also enhance personal safety.
Alternative Options:
The alternative would be to not amend a contract with Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County (METRO) to construct and install additional one hundred (100) bus shelters.
