Background and Discussion:

Harris County Precinct 3 has requested that Harris County Engineering Department (HCED) manage the design and construction of an expansion project at Harris County Cypress Service Center, located at 15530 Huffmeister Rd, Cypress, TX 77429.

 

After redistricting, Cypress Camp went from building maintenance personnel-only to road and bridge, parks and building maintenance. There is not sufficient room for equipment, personnel parking, office space, above ground fuel tanks or material storage.

 

Expected Impact:

The proposed improvements for Tract 1 are directly adjacent to the existing Cypress Camp facilities. The new site will require increased area for detention, which will be provided along an existing drainage easement at the north of the property (Tract 2).

Alternative Options: 

If this is not approved, then the expansion of the existing Cypress Camp facilities cannot proceed.
