Background and Discussion:
This request is for an amendment to realign budget categories within the grant. The Notice of Award was approved on Commissioners Court on August 8th, 2023. Additional Context: Through funding made possible by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Harris County Public Health (HCPH) will provide training and deployment of community health workers (CHWs) to response efforts and by building and strengthening community resilience to fight COVID-19 through addressing existing health disparities.
Expected Impact:
This will enable HCPH to have dedicated Community Health Workers with boots on the ground daily to mitigate further impacts of COVID-19 and continue to connect the community to valuable resources in a data-driven and equitable fashion. Additionally, resource navigators will continue to provide application assistance for state and local benefits for those eligible.
