Background and Discussion:
As part of the Clean Streets Safe Neighborhoods initiative, the Crime Prevention Through Environmental
Design (CPTED) focus area of the Harris County ARPA portfolio identified proactive neighborhood nuisance
abatement as a “quick win” for reducing violent crime and increasing quality of life in vulnerable communities.
The Neighborhood Nuisance Abatement program is focused on the abatement of unsafe structures in Harris
County neighborhoods that pose a health and safety risk to area residents including children. Public Health requested services for the renewal of the RNDI Companies, Inc. contract.
Expected Impact:
Public Health will have continued access to acquire the services of RNDI Companies, Inc. for the abatement of public nuisances and will remove public safety and health risks within the community in the process.
Alternative Options:
Public Health would have to rebid the project for the Neighborhood Nuisance Program.
