Background and Discussion:
On October 16, 2025, Commissioners Court accepted a total of $1,013,859.32 in FY 2025 Port Security Grant
Program funds. Out of that amount, the Harris County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) has been awarded $345,055 for
maritime security risk mitigation in accordance with Investment Justification No. 5. The total award of
$345,055 consists of $258,791.25 in FY 2025 PSGP grant funds with a match of $86,263.75 in General Funds.

This grant will provide funding to complete the program priorities that will buy down risks associated with
PSGP Homeland Security guidelines.
