Project Description:

Modifications to the 5th floor of the Administration building to allow the Office of County Administration (OCA) to consolidate more of its operations at this location.  The project will create seven new offices and add doors to existing offices.  The project, estimated to cost $570,000, is scheduled to be completed before the end of the calendar year.

Project Scope:

This project aims to consolidate OCA staff and operations further. The significant elements of the project are:

•                     The personal bathrooms in two executive offices will be capped off.  The walls adjoining the executive offices with conference rooms will be removed, the conference room and bathroom space will be merged, and new walls will be erected to create three offices in each area, for a total of six new offices.

•                     Wall off a current open space to create a seventh new office.

•                     Doors will be installed in current offices to help reduce the noise output on the floor.

Justification:

Over the last year, the OCA has merged with multiple other departments, reorganized its operations, and filled numerous open positions.  This project will create a working environment that allows division personnel to be situated in proximity and department operations to be optimized.

In addition, relocating OCA personnel to the 5th floor will free up space in their current locations for other departments in the same area who won’t have to separate personnel.

Alternatives and Engagement:

•                     Do not fund the project; leave OCA personnel in their current locations.

•                     Fund the project in stages; construct three offices now and others later.
