Background and Discussion:

A traffic study was conducted at the intersection of Clay Road at Ventana Prairie Drive and the intersection met the traffic signal warrant, in accordance to the 2011 Texas Manual on Uniform Control Devices (TMUTCD).

Expected Impact:

The installation of a new traffic signal at the subject location will improve the public safety and operation of the intersection.

Alternative Options:

Intersections are evaluated in accordance with the 2011 Texas Manual on Uniform Control Devices (TMUTCD), which takes into consideration traffic volume, crashes, pedestrian activity, and roadway network. Installation of a traffic signal at intersections that meet the required warrants and will improve the safety and operations of the intersection. One alternative option is to install a multi-way stop, which may decrease the level of service of the intersection and increase congestion and delay. Another option is to not install the traffic signal, which may pose a public safety concern.
