Background and Discussion:

The building which was previously a grocery store has gone through multiple renovations and is now a Community Center and office space for Precinct 3. Ventilation, temperature and humidity control has been an issue. The scope of the project is to modify existing (newer RTU-1) to serve new VAV terminals in the office area, replace several smaller RTUs and size on the expected loads. All old inefficient ductwork will be replaced with new ductwork. A new building automation system with direct digital control (DDC) will be installed.

Expected Impact:

HVAC System Upgrades at the Trini Mendenhall Community Center will solve the heating and cooling problems due to system deficiencies, resolve high humidity problems in the building and facilitate effective temperature control.

Alternative Options:

Award a higher bidder which would increase cost.
