Background and Discussion:
This project includes the construction of four 11-foot-wide concrete pavements with a 24-foot median, and an 8-foot-wide sidewalk along both sides West Gulf Bank Road from Interstate 45 Freeway to Airline Drive. It also includes drainage improvements.
Following coordination with the Harris County Fiber Department, it was determined that the existing Harris County backbone fiber splice must be relocated due to a change in the signal cabinet location. The current cable length is insufficient to reconnect the system. The proposed change includes the addition of new fiber cable to re-establish the communication link with the TranStar system. This change will add additional costs of $11,224.98, and no days.
Expected Impact:
Increase the total cost for the contract.
Alternative Options:
No action will result in substandard construction
