Background and Discussion:
On October 29, 2024, Commissioners Court approved for Housing and Community Development (HCD) an award of up to $1,300,000 of Flex Funds to secure real estate project management, advisory and brokerage services to aid in the management of and appraisal of potential properties to further affordable housing in Harris County.
HCD now would like to use the funds help to cover costs of post-closing and development work, including but not limited to real estate, planning, engineering, legal, and environmental consulting services on an “as needed” basis, that contribute to our alignment with ARPA SLFRF federal and local policy. HCD request's the ability to maximize use of the existing allocation until ARPA close-out so that these funds can continue to be utilized on an as-needed basis and be responsive to the needs of developing and preserving investments made in the Multi Family portfolio. This request was approved by Focus Area Team Steering Committee.
Expected Impact:
No additional funding requested; rather to use the funds to cover post-closing and development work, including but not limited to real estate, planning, engineering, legal, and environmental consulting services on an “as needed” basis, that contribute to our alignment with ARPA SLFRF federal and local policy.
