Background and Discussion:
This project consists of a new park and asphalt roadway extension. The park will consist of an asphalt parking lot, walking trail, concrete pads for benches, tables, and a canopy, grading for a future playground, and drainage facilities. The project also includes the extension of Binford Circle, two new asphalt driveways, and the reconstruction of four existing driveways.
This change in contract includes the following:
• The final adjustment (reconciliation of actual quantities used in construction against the bid).
• This change in contract includes 183 days due to delay in completion of new service drop by CenterPoint before the contractor could finish the electrical portion of the contract, realigning of the trail and placing of crush concrete base under parking lot.
Expected Impact:
Change allows unused funds to be returned to Harris County and allows the Contractor to be compensated.
Alternative Options:
Maintain the original scope of the project and have the utility company to install new service pole on time.
