Background and Discussion:

Harris County Precinct 2 (PCT2) submitted a request to Harris County Engineering Department (HCED) PMO for HCED to manage the study of Hopper Road Corridor, from Hardy Toll Road to Hirsch Road, approximately 3.3 miles long. The goal is to provide a corridor study focused on public safety and community input. To meet Revive2Thrive vision of Precinct 2 for empowering communities and creating opportunities to existing neighborhoods, the project will study, evaluate, and analyze for roadway, drainage, traffic, and sidewalk improvements on Hopper Road from Hardy Toll Road to Hirsch Road.

Expected Impact:

The use of Professional Services will expedite the assessment of the existing roadway, drainage, and pedestrian elements of the Corridor; and provide recommendations using specialized engineering services. This study will be contributed to incorporate pedestrian and bicycle facilities that promote safety throughout the corridor and make it more pedestrian/bicycle friendly and spur economic development.
