Background and Discussion:
The TAG Center serves as the unified headquarters for some of the region’s most knowledgeable and
experienced federal, state and local anti-gang investigators, analysts and prosecutors. The TAG Center is
comprised of various law enforcement agencies, including the Texas Department of Public Safety; U.S.
Department of Homeland Security; Federal Bureau of Investigation; Drug Enforcement Administration;
Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives; U.S. Marshals Service; the Houston Police
Department; Harris County Sheriff’s Office; other county sheriffs and constable’s offices throughout the
region; and the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, among others. The TAG Center implements an
innovative approach to fighting violent criminal gangs and the transnational criminal organizations with
which they are increasingly allied. Under the general supervision of the TAG administrator, the
Intelligence Analyst Officer shall collect and analyze data concerning security threats and intelligence
activities. The Intelligence Analyst Officer shall be responsible for the threat and security intelligence
collection, preventive communications, threat mitigation, and threat briefing/reporting.
Expected Impact:
Request for approval to rebid for the Intelligence Analyst Officer position for the Texas Anti-Gang (TAG) Center-Houston for the period of October 1, 2026 through September 30, 2027 at a cost of $173,004.
